Glenpark Free Range Farm
The Glenpark Free Range Farm at Dunback is situated in the South Island’s picturesque Waitaki district, on a beautiful and isolated route between the coast and Central Otago. The 24-hectare farm is the largest of its kind in New Zealand. The woodland’s trees offer shade and shelter, while pasture under foot provides fresh green feed. Under the security of the trees’ canopies, our healthy and content hens roam further lead more active lives and enjoy a greater variety of food.
Inside their living quarters, they have individual nesting boxes to lay in. Between their living quarters and the woodland area are the unique “winter gardens”. These covered courtyards shelter hens from both bright sunlight and cold, wet weather, so that even in extreme weather, they can go to an outdoor covered area.
Our hens are fed a natural diet based on a wholegrain mix of barley, grains and locally-grown wheat. Combined with the fresh, green grass eaten during the day, the hens produce eggs which have deep-yellow yolks and strong, clear whites.
Woodland uses best-practice farming methods and equipment to guarantee the eggs produced are a consistently high standard. Our philosophy is simple: by providing our hens with the highest quality facilities within a relaxed environment, they in turn produce the highest quality eggs.
To consistently deliver a premium product, you have to maintain high standards. Glenpark Free Range Farm was one of the first farms in New Zealand to have a registered Risk Management Programme (RMP).
Freshness is a paramount and Woodland eggs are collected twice daily from the farm’s nesting boxes. They are individually inspected, before being packed on site into 100% recyclable and biodegradable cartons and delivered to supermarkets, cafes and restaurants throughout New Zealand and to customers overseas.
